If you never have played before, take some lessons before trying to go out to a course. Driving ranges are good places to start and often offer inexpecive lessons. Also, the first time you go to a real golf course remember other golfers get cranky over people who take too long, so take lots of inexpensive balls. If you loss one, look for it for a second or two but then drop another quickly and go on… That’s why they sell 12 at a time. It’s part of the cost of the game and everyone losses balls.

Anyone Have Any Good Tips On How I Can Learn Golf Quickly?

I’m supposed to start golfing with some guys from work. All I can do is drive the ball. I’m not good at chip shots, par 3s, approach shots, or anything other than hitting it with a driver. I guess I just get carried away at the range with it…what can I do? I try watching the folks on tv but I still hit the ball too far everytime and blade it. I can’t get the spin or the high arch or anything…help!

Do you hit them well as is? If you hook or slice or mis-hit a lot, and also see sole markings heavily on the heel or sole side, you could improvement their performance by having them adjusted. But no, you don’t have to if you are comfortable. You might just be one of those people the fitting charts call “standard”.
